The Historic Caravan Club aim is to promote the preservation and use of vintage and classic caravans and give an increased awareness of this important part of our motoring and social history and educate future generations in the development and preservation of caravans.




NOTICE FOR MEMBERS

AGM Postponed


Due to the continuing spread of the COVID 19 virus and government advice to limit travel
the committee of the Historic Caravan Club has decided for our members safety
 to postpone the AGM

Subject to further review in late May or early June, 
the  provisional date and venue will now be:-

             Venue - Fellmongers Farm, RG9 3NT, during the "Hooray Henley" Rally. 
             Date/Time - Sunday 5th July 2020 at 12 noon.

Coffee and refreshments from 11am, Day visitors very welcome but bring picnic/packed lunch.

Please check here regularly for any updates on the situation.

If you aware of any members who may not have notified us of their email address or are not on-line, 
please pass on this information.

 (assuming no further changes due to CV 19 situation) 
The Meadowside rally will now go ahead from the 14th to the 17th of August.
The Rivendell rally has been moved to the 17th to 22nd August as a follow-on event.

Interesting historic photograph just donated to the HCC


Picture shows what is believed to be the first design of Eccles trailer caravan.
The back of picture is noted Whitsun 1922
Compare this with the Eccles pictures in the Martin Lumby Archive.
Wolfgang has now found another two high resolution pictures.
Click on the picture to see all three. 
Pictures 2 and 3 were found 100 miles from picture 1 in Germany!
